Felix Cervantez

Felix Cervantez, 79, of Galesburg, died at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Galesburg Terrace where he had spent his final years.  Felix was born on August 1, 1935 in Topeka, KS, the son of Augustine and Jessie Rios Cervantez.  Surviving Felix is his mother, Jessie (and John) Laforett of Michigan City, IN; a brother, Augustine (and Dora) of Oak Lawn; 3 sisters, Pauline (and Marcos) Murillo of Chicago, Mary (and Alfred) Castro of Michigan City, IN, and Angie (and Larry) Hollowell of Galesburg.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, 3 brothers and a sister. Felix worked as a laborer for a bottle company in Chicago for many years.  He had also worked in Minnesota. Funeral services will be Monday, April 12, 2010 at Watson Funeral Home, with Rev. Deus-Dedit Byabato officiating.  Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home with the rosary being prayed at 6 p.m.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
