Florence Jacoby

Florence Jacoby, 84, of 1250 W. Carl Sandburg Dr, Galesburg, died at 3:47 p.m., December 25, 2007 at Rosewood Care Center. Florence was born on March 25, 1923 in Streator, the daughter of Frank and Pauline Elias Wahl. She married Lee Edward Jacoby on March 1, 1948 in Joliet. He preceded her in death on May 6, 2001. Surviving Florence are her son, Edward Jacoby and Bill Coffey both of Kewanee; a daughter, Anna Lee Paisley Wick of Steward; 2 brothers, Francis and Raymond Wahl both of Streator; a sister, Pauline Brandt of Mendota; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Preceding Florence in death were a daughter, Eleanor; 3sisters; and a brother. Florence was a self-employed beauty operator for 30 years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, the Legion of Mary, Welcome Wagon, and the New Comers. She loved fishing, swimming, and bridge. She loved her family. She was dedicated to volunteering at St. Patrick’s Church. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Church with the Rev. Deus-Dedit Byabato, officiating. Visitation will be from 9-9:45 a.m. Friday at Watson Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Patricks Church.
