Frank N. Rodich, 87, of Galesburg, died at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Marigold Health Care and Rehab. Frank was born August 21, 1927 in Waukesha, WI, the son of Nicholas L. and Pauline T. Palich Rodich. Frank is survived by his life companion, Sandra Van Winkle of Galesburg; a son, Mark L. (Kathy) Van Winkle of White Bear Lake, MN; a brother, Michael N. Rodich of Galesburg; one grandson, Vince Van Winkle; one granddaughter, Nichole L. Gillespie; eight great grandchildren; a niece, Paula (Wyatt) Upton; and a nephew, Joe (Kathy) Pittman. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Louis, Joe and Anthony Rodich; and three sisters, Mary Umphenour, Anastasia Riesebieter, and Ruby Pittman. Frank served in the US Navy during WWII. He worked as a construction worker at Benbow Plumbing and Heating for several years. He then worked as an operator out of the Union Hall. He was a member of Laborers Local 538 and Operating Engineers Local 649. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Galesburg. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Friday February 20, 2015 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Funeral Services will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Galesburg. Rev. William T. Miller, IC will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
