Fred W. Wright, Jr.

Fred W. Wright, Jr, 85, of 1384 N. Henderson St., Galesburg, died at 2:15 a.m. Sunday, May 10, 2009 at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville. Fred was born on January 22, 1924 in Galesburg, the son of Fred W. and Myrtle A. Johnson Wright, Sr. Surviving Fred is a sister, Mary Tracy of Galesburg; a sister-in-law, Margaret Wright of Galesburg; several nieces and nephews.  Fred was a practical nurse for several years at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, CA. He served in the Air National Guard during the Korean War. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Wataga Senior Citizens, OAKS, and the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post #285.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Watson Funeral Home, with Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Honor Guard.
