George Leo Lee, 70, of Camdenton, MO and Galesburg, IL , died Thursday, May 3, 2012 at his home in Camdenton, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. George was born July 25, 1941 in Monmouth, the son of Charles and Juanita (Dowell) Lee. He married Diane Little on December 1, 1961 in Monmouth. George is survived by his wife Diane; two daughters, Christine (Sam) Rogers of Galesburg and Catherine Lee of Republic, MO; a brother, Willard (Pat) Lee of Roseville; and a sister, Ruth (Rod) Stierwalt of Roseville. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin children, Joseph and Mary; and a half sister, Terry Morris. George worked at Jefferson-Smurfit for 44 years. He had served at Secretary/Treasurer of the Union. He was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where he served as an usher and extraordinary minister. He enjoyed spending time in Camdenton, MO, boating, and fishing. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with Rev. Msgr. Ernest Pizzamiglio officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Watson Funeral Home, with the rosary being prayed at 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice, Lebanon, MO or American Cancer Society.
