Georgene R. Raymond

Georgene R. Raymond, 78, of Galesburg, died at 3:15 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center. Georgene was born on August 24, 1933 the daughter of Chester and Irene (Peterson) Gabrielson.  She married Donald Raymond on November 4, 1954.  She preceded her in death on May 3, 1995.  Georgene is survived by a son, Gregory G. Raymond of Knoxville; three grandchildren, Melody, Harmony, and Glen Raymond; 4 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Sonia Gray of Galesburg and June Hammond of Canton.  She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Rod Gray, Joel Gray, Sonia Nelson, Joseph Gray, Mary Davidson, Patrick Gray, Michael Gray, Echo Rilea, Larry Daniel and Marcina Rilea; and a brother in law, Larry Rilea. Georgene graduated from Orion High School in 1949 and attended Augustana College.  She worked at Wagner Printing in Galesburg for many years.  She was a member of several women’s clubs including the birthday club.  Funeral services for Georgene will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Watson Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the family.
