Gerald L. Eastburg

Gerald Lee Eastburg, 70, of Galesburg, died at 4:09 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2018 at home. Jerry was born August 11, 1947 in Galesburg, the son of William Henry and Louise Johanna (Larson) Eastburg. Jerry married Robin Rae Green on August 19, 1985 in Galesburg.   He is survived by his wife, Robin of Galesburg; one son, Aaron (Jen) Eastburg of Galesburg; his siblings, George (Sue) Eastburg of Galesburg, Carol Wingo of Galesburg, and Charles (Linda) Eastburg of Burlington, WI; as well as four grandchildren, Alexa, Lauren, Adyson, and Daxton. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jerry worked at Maytag for over 30 years, retiring in 1999. He served in the US Army from 1966 to 1968 serving in Vietnam in the 92nd Assault Helicopter Co., 1st Aviation Brigade as a door gunner on a helicopter. He enjoyed listening to music, riding motorcycles in his younger years, attending flat track motorcycle racing, and antique cars. Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. No funeral services are planned. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
