Gloria Jean Smith

Gloria Jean Smith, 74, of 639 Ohio Ave., Galesburg, died at 4:14 a.m. on Sunday February 11, 2007 at Cottage Hospital.   Gloria was born on April 20, 1932 in Council Bluffs, IA, the daughter of Clarence and Margaret Carmichael Bainter.  She married William “Bill” J. Smith on May 24, 1957 in Galesburg.  Surviving Gloria are her husband Bill of Galesburg; 2 sons:  Phillip (Dawn) Smith and Ronald J. Ericson both of Galesburg; 4 daughters:  Gail (Holman) Jones of Hamlin, TX, Kimberly (Richard) Taylor and Lisa (Scott) Nemeth both of Galesburg, and Sheryl (Junior) Hensley of Tennessee; 1 sister Lorraine Ramsey of Knoxville; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.   Gloria had worked as a nurses aide at OSF St. Mary Medical Center and then in housekeeping at the Holiday Inn.  Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday February 15, 2007 at Watson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 5 –8 p.m. on Wednesday February 14, 2007 at Watson Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
