Gregory E. Mcqueen

Gregory Evan McQueen, 59, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

Greg was born November 16, 1964 in Galesburg, the son of Carol Frances (Ankeney) and Jerald Lewis McQueen. After graduating from ROVA High School, Greg enlisted in the US Army in 1987 and was honorably discharged in 1991.

Greg is survived by his father, Jerry of Galesburg; two brothers, Charles (Deborah) McQueen of Oneida, Illinois and Donald (Ronda) McQueen of Altona, Illinois; and one sister, Angela (Charles) Maurizi of Galesburg. Greg was preceded in death by his mother on August 1, 2008.

In his free time, Greg enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and camping. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2024 at St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg. Deacon Michael Crummer will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
