Gregory E. Rice, 59, of 1381 Bridge Ave., Galesburg, died at 2:05 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at home. Greg was born on October 26, 1947 in Chicago, the son of Ira and June Rice. He married Linda Ziobro. He later married Deb Joyner on May 17, 2002 in Galesburg. Surviving Greg are his wife, Deb of Galesburg, 2 sons: Allan C. of Galesburg and Richard A. (Jennifer) of Vacaville, CA; 3 step daughters: Courtney (Gentry) Tate of Monmouth, Carrie Endicott and Charity Endicott both of Galesburg; 3 sisters: Charlotte Rice of Chicago, Debbie (Mike) Cassin of Tulsa, OK, and Shirley (Robert) Bono of Norwood Park. Also surviving Greg are 5 grandchildren. Greg served in the US Army, serving in Vietnam. He was a clerk for the BNSF Railroad where he had worked for over 40 years. He was a member of the Railway Clerk's Unions.  He was of the catholic faith. A memorial mass will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 15, 2007 at Corpus Christi Church, with the Rev. Joseph Presley, IC officiating. Burial of ashes will be in East Linwood Cemetery, following mass, with Military Honors performed by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post #285, Honor Guard. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Greg’s life at Crappy’s Sports Pub immediately following the burial. Memorials may be made to the Knox County Humane Society or to the Relay for Life.
