Guy A. Hood

Guy Allen Hood, 68, of Galesburg, died at 9:25 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2024 at his home.

He was born to Charles Daniel and Margaret Joan (Wolfe) Hood on October 2, 1956 in Kewanee, Illinois. After graduating from high school, Guy proudly served in the United States Army. He later worked as an assembler at Pines in Kewanee for many years.

Guy is survived by his girlfriend of 18 years, Shelly Harding of Galesburg; one son, David Hood of Kewanee; one daughter, Lauren (Michael) Gall of Odell, Illinois; two brothers, Greg Hood of Eldridge, Iowa, and Paul Hood of Kewanee; and one sister, Pamela Hood of Kewanee. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In the last act of generosity and care for others, Guy donated his body to science. There are no services planned at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
