Harlan Louis Myers, 80, Tucson, AZ, formerly of Galesburg, died Tuesday, October 3, 2006 in the TMC Hospice Unit in Tucson. He was born March 29, 1926 in Galesburg, the son of Earl and Vera Myers. He married Marie Anna Weber on August 1, 1947 in Galesburg. Surviving are his wife; 3 children, a daughter Barbara (and Michael) O’Donnell, Highland, IL, a son, Jeffrey (and Charline) Myers, Chippewa Falls, WI, and a daughter, Kathleen (and Robert) Seligmann, Fort Collins, CO; one brother, Philip Myers, Knoxville, IL; 2 sisters, Kathryn Judson, Martinsville, VA , and Margaret Curry, Traverse City, MI; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1944 and Brown’s Business College in 1947. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was stationed in Hawaii at the Naval Supply Depot in Aiea, Oahu. He was a member of Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Galesburg as well as a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Tucson, AZ. He was an accountant at Victor Casket Hardware from 1949 to 1953. Until his retirement due to disability in 1983, he was an accountant at Admiral Manufacturing for 30 years. Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 10 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ernest Pizzamiglio officiating. Preceding Mass, visitation will be at Watson Funeral Home from 9:45 to 10:45 am. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to TMC Foundation Hospice Fund, 5301 E. Grant Road, Tucson, AZ, 85712, or given to the family for distribution to this and other family charities.
