Harry M. Aldus, 86, of Galesburg passed away at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg. He was born on January 28, 1926 in Galesburg to Harry and Annette B. Wanrooy Aldus, and he married Rosalie Aldus on July 12, 1986 in Davenport, IA. She survives. Harry is also survived by a daughter, Myra (Ken) Boydstun of Galesburg; two step-daughters, Virgie Scott-Shiman ofGalesburg, and Terri Lynn (Mike) Robinson of Woodhull; three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, as well as one sister, Nancy Herndon of Arizona. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Aldus, and a sister, Peg Hertz. Harry served his country with the United States Army from 1943 to 1945. He worked as a brakeman on the railroad for many years, and was a member of East Galesburg Community Chapel as well as the American Legion. Cremation has been accorded and Watson-Thomas Funeral Home is handling arrangements for the family. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home. The Reverend Milton Marquith will officiate. Memorials may be made to East Galesburg Community Chapel, or to the American Legion.
