Heather S. Johnson

Heather Shannon Johnson, 35, of Galesburg, died on April 1, 2021. Heather was born March 3, 1986 the daughter of Rodney Dee Johnson and Laurie Ann Sperlin.  Heather is survived by her father, Rodney (Linda Schwartzkopf) Johnson of Galesburg and mother, Laurie (Steve) Robison of Galesburg; and one brother, Kevin Sperlin of Galesburg.  Heather is also survived by one niece, Lyra Sperlin; uncles, John (Kelly) Sperlin, DeWayne (Peg) Sperlin, and Mike (Margie) Johnson all of Galesburg; aunts, Debbie (Jim) Sparks, Jackie Cadwell, Colleen (Joe) Tribley, Gail Soper, and Sherry (Larry) Ashbey all of Galesburg; and numerous cousins including two special cousins, Haley Sperlin and Holly (Ryan) Crane.  Heather was preceded in death by her grandparents; one uncle, Jim Johnson; and one aunt, Carolyn Warden. Heather graduated from Galesburg High School and worked as a waitress.  She was always a daredevil.  She enjoyed anything fast, especially NASCAR, flat track and motocross racing.  She also enjoyed watching football and was an excellent swimmer. Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.  Pastor Martin Gutzmer will officiate.  There will be no visitation.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the family in care of Watson Thomas Funeral Home.
