Helen Boys

Helen Boys, 75, of Galesburg passed away at 1:33 a.m. Saturday, September 06 at Richard Owens Hospice House in Peoria. She was born January 3, 1939 in Monmouth to Edwin and Francis Slagoe Smock and married Raymond Boys on August 2, 1975 in Morris. He survives. Helen is also survived by a son, Junior; a daughter, Katherine; a stepson, Jim; five stepdaughters, Dorothy, Brenda, Shirley, Verna, and Rayetta; a brother, Eddie; two sisters, Judy and Kathy, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Pete; her sister, Thelma; and two sons, Owen and Don. Helen was a graduate of Monmouth High School and worked for 32 years for Maytag. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 10 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 10 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the family.
