Helen F. Mijatovic

Helen Florence Mijatovic, 92, of Galesburg passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at 1:05 a.m. with her family by her side. Helen was born on July 13, 1929 in London, England. She is the daughter of Joseph and Rose (Bennett) Bolton. Helen married Michael L. Mijatovic in London on February 2, 1949. Michael preceded her in death on July 25, 1969. She is survived by three daughters, Lisa D. Mijatovic of McHenry, IL, Michele (Vaughn) Heifner of Galesburg, and Sandra H. Bolton of Pleasanton, CA; one son, Michael P. Mijatovic of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren, Tully E. Mijatovic, Bradley M. Kehoe, and Robyn R. Kehoe. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a daughter, Danica Mijatovic. Helen was a legal secretary at Much Shelist Law Firm, Chicago, for about 40 years, retiring in 2004. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Galesburg. Helen loved cats, reading, and traveling. She enjoyed dancing in competitions.  Helen always donated to charities. No services are planned. Cremation will be accorded. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Knox County Humane Society.
