Hope Ramirez

Hope R. Ramirez, 89, of Galesburg, died at 5:50 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. Hope was born August 9, 1924 in Galesburg to Abundio and Emilia Martinez.  She married Antonio Ramirez in 1947 in Springfield.  She is survived by one son, Alfonso (Marcie) Ramirez of Escondido, CA; one daughter, Martha Mendez of Whittier, CA; four sisters, Connie Delgado, Rita Senders, Julia Madura, and Esther Forshee; and one brother, Jess ( Joanne) Martinez.  She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband; and two daughters, Antonia “Susie” and Lisa. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and its altar and rosary society. Funeral Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.  Rev. William Miller, IC will officiate.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg.  Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2014 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  The rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
