Immanuel S. Duran

Immanuel S. Duran, 81, of 333 Maple Ave, Galesburg, died at 8:57 p.m. on Monday, March 19, 2007 at Cottage Hospital. Immanuel was born on April 17, 1925 in Galesburg the son of Canuto and Barbar Sanchez Duran. He married Maria Cervantez in 1951 in Mexico. Surviving Immanuel are his wife Maria of Galesburg; 3 sons: Arthur and Shawn (Loria) both of Galesburg and Miguel of Houston, TX; 4 daughters: Mary (Pedro) Avalos of Texas, Toni Fry of Austin, TX, Julia (Florentino) Avalos of Pharr, TX, and Esther Garcia of Woodhull; 1 brother Augustine of Chicago; 4 sisters: Carmen Garcia and Micala Garcia both of Mercedes, TX, Beatrice Duran of Mexico, and Tina Perales of Pharr, TX; 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.  Preceding him in death was 1 sister.Immanuel worked at Galesburg Malleable for 5 years, then worked at Maytag for 15 years prior to retiring. He was a member of Corpus Christi Church. Private family services will be held. No visitation is planned. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
