Jack L. Behymer, 63, of rural route Victoria, died at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at home. Jack was born on September 13, 1944 in Canton, the son of James E. and Tessie E. Munson Behymer. He married D. Gayle Cooke on September 25, 1965 in Tucson, AZ. Surviving Jack are his wife, Gayle of Victoria; a son, Ronald L. (Shari) Behymer of Muscatine, IA; a daughter, Patricia D. (Pat) Pemberton of Oneida; 2 brothers, Robert E. (Joyce) Behymer of Lewistown and Lewis L. (Betty) Behymer of Galesburg; 3 sisters, Rosemary (Eldon) Walters or Jacksonville, Shirley J. Snowman of Smithfield, and D. Elaine (Danny) Schoonover of Cuba; and 5 grandchildren. Also surviving are a stepbrother, Charles (Cathy) Martindale of Lewistown; 2 stepsisters, Pauline (Richard) Wilcoxin of Canton and Cinda Liveck of North Carolina. Jack was preceded in death by his father, James; mother, Tessie; stepmother, Clara Behymer; sister, Juanita Deford; and a stepsister, Janice Martindale. Jack served in the US Air Force from November 22, 1962 to August 28, 1970 achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant and received the Air Force Commendation Medal. Jack had been a supervisor for Midland Coal Company for several years. He had worked for the last 13 years as an electrician for Burlington Northern-Santa Fe. He was a member of IBEW local 16. He was baptized in Smithfield United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be 1 p..m. Friday, January 4, 2007 at Watson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jean Carmean, officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. A graveside memorial service will be held in the spring at Smithfield Cemetery, Smithfield. Memorials may be made to the family.
