Jacqueline C Noel

Jacqueline Claire Noel, 82, of Galesburg, died at 8 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg. Jacqueline was born May 23, 1929 in LaPorte, IN the daughter of Frank and Pauline (Fitzpatrick) Shank.  She married Donald Noel on May 24, 1952 in Abingdon.  Don preceded her in death on January 28, 2003.  Jacqueline is survived by three sons, Brian (Lynn) of Anchorage, AK, Sean (Laurie) of Sterling, MA, and Tim (Joni) of Baltimore, MD; two daughters, Loretta Noel of Aiken, SC and Sharon (David) Marcellis of Sugar Grove; and a brother, Charles Shank of Abingdon.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Amy Wieland, Anne Paradies, Caroline Noel, Laura Noel, Sarah Noel, Stephanie Noel, and Shannon Noel.  She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Katherine Noel.  Jacqueline received her bachelor’s degree from Clarke College in Dubuque, IA.  She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the Ladies of Mary, on the funeral luncheon committee, and was a lector.  She volunteered as a reading buddy at Nielson School.  Jacqueline had also served as a CCD teacher and church organist at St. Dominic Church in Wyoming.  Jacqueline spent many years teaching piano lessons. A funeral mass for Jacqueline will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Ernest Pizzamiglio officiating.  Burial will follow in Abingdon Cemetery, Abingdon.  Visitation will be held Monday, October 10, 2011 at Watson Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m.  The rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Costa Catholic Academy music program, or the Alzheimer’s Association.  Visit www.watsonfh.net to share condolences.
