Jacquelyn Ann Johnson, 82, of Galesburg, died at 8:54 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2018 at home with her family by her side. Jackie was born February 18, 1936, in Galesburg, the daughter of Jack Norman and Helen (Swain) Tucker. She married Kenneth D. Larson on September 18, 1955. Together they had four children: two sons, Michael D. (Mary) Larson of Hubert, NC and William Larson of Abingdon; and two daughters, Lynn Rollins of Oneida and Susan Larson of Swansboro, NC. Duane preceded her in death on January 24, 1978. Jackie later married Donald Johnson on May 24, 1985 in Galesburg. He survives of Galesburg. Also surviving are two step sons, Peter Michael (Lori) Johnson of Hamshire and Jeff (Teresa Gibbs) Johnson of Freeport; one step daughter, Carrie Brooks of Atlanta, GA; 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 11 step grandchildren. Along with her first husband and parents, Jackie is preceded in death by one brother, James Tucker. Jackie worked for DORS (Department of Rehabilitation) for 20 years, retiring in 2000. Being a mother and a wife were always the main priorities in her life. She loved her family deeply. Jackie also enjoyed many other things in her life, most notably, dancing, bowling, fishing, and traveling. She was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved gambling especially playing the slot machines. Cremation rites will be accorded. Private family burial of cremated remains will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Thomas Legacy Center at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans).
