James H. Garrison, 85, of 942 Dayton Dr, Galesburg, died at 1:30 p.m. on Monday July 3, 2006 at Cottage Hospital.   He was born on February 22, 1921 in Abingdon the son of Hazel and Bessie Hatfield Garrison.  He married Annettalee Bryan in September of 1947.  She died in 1978.  He then married Marjorie Krupps Miller on November 11, 1978 in Alexis, IL.    Surviving are his wife Marjorie of Galesburg;  2 daughters:  Mary (Jeff) Fontaine of Kankakee and Jane Logan of Manteno;  extended family: Vicki (Ed) Stevens of Galesburg;  4 grandsons:  James and Joshua Logan, Mark Wilke, and Jason Stevens;  1 granddaughter Stephanie Washabaugh;  2 great grandsons:  Charles Funk and Zach Wilke; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one brother Bob and one sister and Nina.   James attended Abingdon schools and received his G.E.D. from the US Coast Guard.  He also attended Carl Sandburg College.  He was in the US Coast Guard serving from 1942-1946.  He worked for the Galesburg Sanitary District for over 20 years, retiring in 1990.  James was a member of the Galesburg Remote Control Model Association, Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post #285, associate member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.   Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with the Reverend Ernest Pizzamiglio, officiating.  Visitation will be on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Watson Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Costa Catholic Academy or the St. Vincent DePaul Society.  Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.watsonfh.net.
