James L. Hilligoss

James Lee Hilligoss, 64, of Galesburg, Illinois, died peacefully at home, Thursday, February 20, 2025.

Jim was born May 19, 1960 in Galesburg, the son of Richard L. and Eloise A. (Daniels) Hilligoss, Sr. Jim is survived by his mother, Eloise Hilligoss of Galesburg; one brother, Richard L. Hilligoss, Jr. of Galesburg; and two sisters, Debbie Hilligoss and Cathy Hilligoss, both of Galesburg. Jim is preceded in death by his father, Richard.

Jim loved being outdoors whether it was fishing or riding his bicycle around town. He enjoyed learning by watching educational shows and the History channel. Old Westerns were some of his favorite shows on television. He will be remembered as a loving and caring person, who was deeply loved by his family and friends, and will be sadly missed.

Private family graveside services will be at Hope Cemetery, Warren County, rural Galesburg. Pastor Jim Reynolds will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
