James P. “Pat” Morris, 78, of Galesburg, the greatest grandpa on earth,  died at 3:52 a.m. on Friday December 22, 2006 at Cottage Hospital.   Pat was born on March 19, 1928 in Warren County, the son of William E. and Margaret Cavanaugh Morris.  He married Pauline Welch on August 12, 1950 in Galesburg.  Surviving Pat are his wife Pauline of Galesburg; 3 sons, Paul S. “Steve” (Christine) and William (Cathy) both of Galesburg, and Jim (Lori) of Naperville; 1 daughter, Trish (Daryl) Van Winkle of Abingdon; 1 sister, Barbara Lane of Rocky Face, GA, 11 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.   Pat served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.  He was a supervisor at OMC Gale Products in Galesburg for 38 years, retiring in 1983.  He was a charter member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Galesburg.   Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Immaculate Heart of Mary, with the Reverend Ernest Pizzamiglio, officiating.  Visitation will be from 5 – 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Watson Funeral Home, with the rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the Music Department of Costa Catholic Academy.
