Janet M. Kahle

Janet Mary Kahle, 80, of Galesburg, Illinois, died peacefully at 3:55 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Marigold Health Care and Rehab, Galesburg.

Janet was born January 18, 1944 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Gerald and Marie (Roths) Clark. Janet worked as a train attendant for AMTRAK for 17 years, before retiring in 2003.

After moving to Galesburg, Janet was an active and faithful member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, member and past treasurer of the Altar and Rosary Society, the Bereavement committee, and RCIA. She also served as treasurer for NARVRE (National Association of Retired Veteran Railroad Employees), attended Cursillo, and enjoyed swimming at the YMCA. Janet was an avid pet lover, enjoyed reading a good book, and going out to eat with her dear friends.

Janet is survived by one son, Christopher Kahle of Los Angeles, California; one daughter, Robyn (Brooks) Davis of San Diego, California; two grandchildren, Savanna and Benjamin Davis; and many dear friends in Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Judy Ann Clark in 1943.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2024 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Galesburg. She will be laid to rest next to her sister at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Nashua, Iowa. Memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Altar and Rosary Society or to Knox County Humane Society.
