Janice A. Tucker, 67, of 1151 Dudley St., Galesburg, died at 9:23 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2008 at Seminary Manor. Janice was born November 2, 1940 in Altona, the daughter of Dale and Teresa Vannoy Townsend. She married James Tucker on August 2, 1958 in Galesburg. Surviving Janice are her husband, Jim of Galesburg; 2 sons, Brian (and Ann) and Jason (and Dawn) both of Galesburg; a daughter Lori (and Tom) Hedden of Galesburg; 7 grandchildren, Shawn and Whitney Hedden, Katie and Tyler Tucker, Hannah, Lexi, and Abby Tucker. Also surviving are 2 brothers, Richard (and Carole) and Wayne (and Shirley) both of Texas; and 2 sisters, Mary Woodruff of Washington and Diane (and Max) Johnson of Abingdon. Janice graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1958. She worked for over 20 years as a clerk at Burlington Northern Railroad, and then worked at Maytag as an assembler until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday at Watson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ernest Pizzamiglio, officiating. Visitation will be from 12 until the time of the service on Friday. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Intercommunity Cancer Center of Western Illinois.
