Jason Michael “Mike” Stodgel, 29 of Galesburg, died 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at home. Jason was born on October 15, 1978 in Morris, Illinois the son of Donald L. and Donna I. Yelm Stodgel. Surviving are his parents Don and Donna of Galesburg; grandmother, Mae Lorene Stodgel of Williamsfield, 3 daughters, Christine, Brittany, and Marissa of Kenton Tennessee; 1 brother, Marty (Ann) Stodgel of Galva; special brother, Marty Short of Galesburg; and special friends, Jack Niles of Abingdon, Charlie Morris of Canton, Dave, and Leonard. Jason graduated from Williamsfield High School. He had worked for McCabes Scrap Iron, Allied Steel, and Hulcher Service Inc. He was a member of the Q.C. Laborers Union and the Williamsfield Methodist Church. He loved riding his motorcycle, playing pool, fishing, and being with friends. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be Saturday in Williamsfield Cemetery, Williamsfield. Memorials may be made to the Knox County Animal Shelter. Watson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
