Jeanne G. Pogue

Jeanne G. Pogue, 89, of 800 N. Market, Knoxville, formerly of 311 E. Simmons St., Galesburg, died at 3:36 a.m. on Friday June 30, 2006 at Cottage Hospital.   She was born on November 5, 1916 in Galesburg, the daughter of Richard E. and Marie Coffey Graham.  She married Tim Pogue on June 13, 1936 in Galesburg.  He died on January 4, 1978.  She is survived by one daughter Betty Bishop of Chillicothe, IL.  Also surviving are 2 grandchildren:  Michael Bishop of Moline, IL and Barbara (Greg) Schoonover of Spring, TX.  2 Great grandchildren:  Lauren and Gregory Schoonover both of Spring, TX.   Jeanne graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Galesburg.  Attended Knox College and graduated from Browns Business College.  She worked in the personnel office at Western Illinois University for 28 years, retiring in 1976.  She was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority, a member of the 50 year club at Knox College.  She was a member at Holy Family Church in Port St. Lucie, FL where she lived for 20 years.  She was also a member of Corpus Christi Church, Galesburg.  A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5 at Corpus Christi Church.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.  Burial of ashes will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to Corpus Christi Church.  Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.watsonfh.net.
