Jesse G. Gowler

Jesse Gale Gowler, 69, of Galesburg, died at 9 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg. Jesse was born December 2, 1948 in Galesburg, the son of Walter Dale and Betty Lou (Moore) Gowler. Jesse is survived by two sons, Casey (Lynn) Gowler of Claremore, OK and Eric Gowler of Selmer, TN; his twin brother, Jack Gowler of Galesburg; four grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Rossie Sargent. Jesse worked at OMC Gale Products for several years until their closure. He then went to work for Admiral and retired from Maytag Corp. in 2004. Jesse served in the US Army. He enjoyed tinkering and repairing small engines, especially lawnmowers. Per his wishes cremation rites will be accorded and private family burial with military rites will be at a later date at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
