Joan E. Shiflett

Joan Elizabeth Shiflett, 78, of Fayette, MO formerly of Galesburg, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 1:58 p.m. in Ashley Manor, Boonville, MO.   Joan was born February 13, 1938 in Peoria, IL.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Lawrence and June Mary Alford Van Winkle.  She was also preceded in death by one daughter, June Anna Cadwell; one son, Todd Cadwell; and one brother, Lee Edwards.  Those left to cherish Joan’s memory are; her husband, James Shiflett of Fayette, MO; two sons, Kevin E. (Melinda) Vance and Donald E. (Valerie) Cadwell both of Marshall, MO; one daughter, Vivian F. (Steve) Haahn of Farmington; one brother, Gary Lee Corbett of Kankakee; and one sister, Sandra Van Winkle of Galesburg.   Joan worked for many years in housekeeping at the Missouri State School.   Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg.  Deacon Jim Haneghan will officiate.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
