John H. Bogard

Long time Galesburg resident, John H. Bogard of Oquawka, passed away at 2:10 p.m. on Jan 28, 2007at OSF St. Mary Medical Center. He was 78.  He was born in Galesburg on October 29, 1928 the son of John T. and Audrey Trout Bogard.  He married Catherine Hatch on June 9, 1960 in Oquawka. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Catherine L. of Oquawka, children Cindy and Mick Chandler of Williamsfield, Chuck Bogard, Stark FL, Luella (Lou) Ellison of Galesburg, Robert and Jennifer Bogard of Crystal Lake, Step Mother Helen Bogard of Galesburg, Sister Ginny Freeland FL, Sister Betty Peterson of Galesburg, Brother William (Bill) and Helen Bogard of Galesburg, 10 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. To many friends and loved ones to count. He is preceded in death by his parents John T. Bogard, Galesburg, Audrey C. Trout, Knoxville, Brother Jimmy Bogard and a Granddaughter Michelle E. Jones. AZ.   John was a 38 year employee of Admiral and Maytag Manufacturing in Galesburg. He retired in 1989. He was of the catholic faith and a member of the Elks lodge and the American Legion.  He served in the US Army from 1955 to 1958.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday February 1, 2007 at Corpus Christi Church, with the Rev. Joseph Presley officiating.  Visitation will be on Wednesday January 31, 2007 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home, Galesburg, with the rosary being prayed at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.  Memorials may be made to the family.
