John J. Pacheco

John J. Pacheco, 62, of Galesburg, Illinois, died unexpectedly at home, Saturday, April 13, 2024.

John was born September 21, 1961 in Galesburg, Illinois the son of Adelphino and Wilma W. (Wensel) Pacheco. He was reared and educated in Galesburg, graduating from Galesburg High School in 1980.

John married Theresa Martinez in 1990. They divorced in 1994. John is survived by his mother, Wilma Pacheco of Galesburg; one son, Christopher Pacheco of Galesburg; one daughter, Jessica Dennis Pacheco (fiancé, Eric Wells) of Maquon, Illinois; one beloved granddaughter, Gracie Kay Wells; one brother, Del (Tracey) Pacheco of Galesburg; one sister, Vicky (Richard) Martinez of Chicago, Illinois; and seven nieces. John was preceded in death by one brother, Michael and his father.

John worked most of his adult life at Gates Rubber Co. in Galesburg prior to retiring. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, being outdoors, landscaping, gardening, and tending to his yard. John was of the Catholic Faith. For the past several years, John had been living with his mother to help care for her.

Cremation will be accorded. Celebration of life will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2024 at the Thomas Legacy Center at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
