John Jeffrey Sauter

John Jeffrey Sauter, 54, of Galesburg, died Saturday, November 19, 2016, 5:30 PM, at Marigold Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Galesburg. John was born on December 3, 1961, in Galesburg, Illinois. He was the son of Rodney and Margaret (Bellamy) Sauter. He is survived by his mother, Margaret of Galesburg; a daughter, Jennifer Mabon of Peoria; sisters, Cindy (Tom) Brock, and Alice (James) Mason, both of Galesburg; brothers, Lyndon (Patricia) Sauter of Mathersville, and Scott (Jennifer) Sauter of Monmouth; a step-brother, Rick Boyer of Galesburg; step-sister, Leanne Showalter of Colorado; and two grandchildren, Tristen Frakes, and Gabriel Mabon. He was preceded in death by his father, and his step-father, Richard Boyer. John loved his dogs. He also enjoyed going fishing. John was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and was thrilled that he was able to get to see them win a World Series. John had a smile for everyone who crossed his path and never met a stranger. He had a contagious personality and will be deeply missed by those who loved him. Per John's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
