John Lee Davis, 64, of Galesburg, died at 10 p.m. October 27, 2018 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. John was born July 23, 1954 in Galesburg, the son of Raymond and Beatrice (DeFord) Davis. He married Melissa Kay Trout on October 16, 2017 in Galesburg. John is survived by his wife, Melissa of Galesburg; two sons, John Davis, Jr. of Monmouth and Jayson Davis of Ashboro, NC; one daughter, Jenny Spahnie of Monmouth; six grandchildren, Alexandrea Davis, Colton (Aaliyah) Davis, Austin Davis, Willow Davis, Lorcan Spahne, Lelan Spahne; and six great grandchildren, Areon, Bradyen, Cypris, Dalilah Griffin, Ryker and Savanna Davis. He is also survived by three stepchildren, Kaytlynn Crowe of Dekalb, Sam Trout and Thomas Trout-Young both of Galesburg; one brother, Gary Davis of Cameron; and one sister, Mary (Dean) Youngblood of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike and Steve. John worked as a general contractor for many years in Colorado and South Dakota and spent the past several years working for General Electric. He was a member of Good News Baptist Church. John enjoyed being outside gardening and fishing. He also enjoyed antiques. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pastor Richard Schriber will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. Memorials may be made to the family.
