John T. Anderson

John T. Anderson, 58, of Galesburg, died at 1:51 p.m. September 14, 2017 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital. John was born January 27, 1959 in Galesburg, the son of Marvin Eugene and Lois Jean (Atkinson) Anderson.  John married his partner since 2004, Jean Marie Riley, on August 21, 2016 in Galesburg.  John is survived by his wife, Jean Riley of Galesburg; three sons, Jason and Joshua Rundle both of Galesburg and Jacob Rundle of New Orleans, LA; and one grandson, Shawn Rundle.  John has one sister surviving and was preceded in death by one brother. John earned his master mechanics degree.  He was proud of his degree and worked as a mechanic his entire life from heavy equipment and construction equipment repair to his last twelve years as the service manager at KCM in Morton, IL.  John loved his co-workers and had a deep respect for his bosses.  John loved working with his hands.  Aside from being a mechanic, John made furniture and loved to cook.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand, and was the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, September 18, 2017 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation.  No funeral services are planned.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Per John’s wishes memorials may be made to the family or to the Knox County Humane Society.
