Jolene “Granny” Shea-Becker, 77, of 1165 Maple Ave., Galesburg, died at 2:50 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2008 at home. Jolene was born on September 23, 1930 in East Moline, the daughter of Ralph and Jenny Bankston Moore. She married James P. Shea in 1948 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death in May 2, 1978. She later married Floyd Becker on February 13, 1987. He died on March 2, 2004. Surviving Granny are, a son, Jerry (Carolyn) Shea of Crystal Lake; 2 daughters, Kathy Shea of Galesburg and Joan Yelm of Gerlaw; a sister, and Donna Pillow of Milan, TN. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Shawn (Roxann) Shea of Gerlaw, Nichole (Jason) Mathews of Galesburg, Colin (Kellie) Shea of Maryland, and Brynn Shea of Crystal Lake; and her great grandchildren, Joelle, Alyssa, and Breanna Shea of Gerlaw, and Gage Mathews of Galesburg. Preceding her in death was a brother Junior Moore. Granny was a helping hand at Galesburg Terrace for the past 12 years. She was a member of Gilson Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at Watson Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
