Jose "Lupe" Ramirez

Jose “Lupe” Ramirez, 68, of 1245 S. Kellogg St. Galesburg, died at 12:42 p.m. on Thursday July 6, 2006 at Cottage Hospital.   He was born on November 23, 1937 in Galesburg, the son of Eulalio A. and Guadalupe Perez Ramirez.  He is survived by 5 brothers:  Loreto, Jesse(Francine), Theodore, and Antonio(Antonia) Ramirez all of Galesburg;  and Eulalio Paul Ramirez of Bakersfield, CA.  3 sisters:  Carmen Ramirez and Mary Lou (Richard) Gonzalez, both of Galesburg, and Jane (Genaro) Ramirez-Reyes of Moline, IL.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.   He served in the U.S. reserves for many years, and was a member at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.  He worked in quality control at Admiral Corp. for many years before retiring.   Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11 at St. Patrick’s Church, with the Rev. William Miller officiating.  No visitation is planned.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to his church.  Watson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
