Joseph S. Wynne, 60, of Galesburg, died at 7:35 p.m. Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at home. Joe was born August 27, 1951 in Monmouth, the son of Stanley and Isabel (Flaherty) Wynne. Joe is survived by his loving sisters, Ellen (Hans) Sunken of Aledo, Jane Wynne and Marti (Lou) Maciel both of Galesburg, Kathy (Tom) Schwab of Rochester, MN, and Cindy Perkins of Knoxville; his loving brother, Dan (Julie) Wynne of Galesburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two very special friends, Lisa Surber and Joan “Hagerty” Whitney. Joe attended Knox County Council for Developmental Disabilities (KCCDD) for many years. While he never formally worked he spent many years helping on the family farm. Joe loved to socialize and participate in frequent outings. He loved a good game of cards and Western movies. Joe collected wrist watches and enjoyed a good, cold longneck. A funeral mass for Joe will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Rev. William Miller, I.C. will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday March 2, 2012 at Watson Funeral Home.
