Josephine J. Hughes

Josephine J. Hughes, 85, of 574 N. Farnham St, Galesburg, died at 10:10 a.m. on Sunday December 24, 2006 at Cottage Hospital.   Josephine was born on November 13, 1921 in Berwick, LA the daughter of Nicholas and Mary Gagliano DePrima.  She married Calvin Duncan in 1941.  He died in 1949.  She later married Lloyd Hughes on November 6, 1952 in Galesburg.  He died on August 3, 2005.  Josephine is survived by one daughter Eloise Sholl of Galesburg, one sister Frances Tolle of Galesburg, one brother Nicholas DePrima of Farmers Branch, TX, and one grandson whom helped care for her Jeffrey (Roxann) Sholl of Kewanee.   Josephine graduated from Carl Sandburg College.  She worked as a LPN at St. Mary Medical Center for several years.  She was of the catholic faith.  She was the past treasurer for the junior hardball league.  Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday December 29, 2006 at Watson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.  Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
