Juanita Cunningham

Juanita Cunningham, 56, of Galesburg, died September 17, 2021 at home. Juanita was born September 25, 1964 in Brownsville, TN, the daughter of Major and Lueginnia (Pitts) Miller, Sr.  She married Kevin James Cunningham on May 17, 1995 in Galesburg.  Kevin preceded her in death on March 23, 2020.  Juanita is survived by two daughters, Ashley Cunningham of San Antonio, TX and Jasmine Cunningham of Galesburg; and two grandsons, Dakarai Cunningham and Braylon Cunningham.  Juanita is also survived by four brothers, George Millers, Ruben (Cheryl) Miller, Lester (Linda) Miller, and James (Tammy) Miller all of Galesburg; three sisters, Edna Watkins of Cincinnati, OH, Maxine Miller of Ripley, TN, and Teresa Miller of Galesburg; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Along with her husband and parents, Juanita was preceded in death by brothers, Wylie Miller, Fred Miller, and Major Miller, Jr., and sisters, Sara DeWalt and Ethel Kemp. Juanita enjoyed taking care of people, working as a CNA in both home health care and at Galesburg Cottage Hospital for many years.  She was very spiritual and was always willing to help out family in friends in need. Visitation will be Friday, September 24, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.  Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be designated at a later date.
