Julie A. Courson

Julie Ann Courson, 57, of Galesburg, died Monday, February 7, 2022 at Marigold Health Care and Rehab, Galesburg. Julie was born June 10, 1964 in Galesburg, the daughter of David Henry and Nancy Lou (Peterson) Courson. Julie is survived by her father, David of Galesburg; two sons, Milan Blissett of Dekalb, IL and Kyran Blissett of Galesburg; one daughter, Paelynne (Colton) Miller of Galesburg; and two grandchildren, Braelynne Courson and Carter Miller. Julie is also survived by three brothers, Kevin (Phuong) Courson of Waxahachie, TX, Cary (Diana) Courson of Battle Ground, WA, and Dustin Courson of Williamsfield. Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy; and two brothers, Rory and Todd. Julie graduated from Grand Canyon University with a BS in Behavioral Health with an emphasis on trauma. She has spent the past four years working as the Community Care Coordinator at Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg. Julie was a loving and caring mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was the rock and foundation for her three children. She loved spending time gardening and listening to music, especially jazz and Frank Sinatra. Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, February 14, 2022 at Bethel Baptist Church, Galesburg. Pastor Darrell Grimm will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following services. Memorials may be made in memory of Julie to Bethel Baptist Church of Safe Harbor Family Crisis Center, Galesburg.
