Julie Ann Thomas

Julie Ann Thomas, 48, of 712 Hawkinson St., Galesburg, died at 10:44 a.m. on Friday, October 08, 2010 at home. Julie was born on December 17, 1961 in Galesburg, the daughter of Jay and Helen (Simpson) Thomas.  She is survived by her parents Jay and Helen of Galesburg; a brother, John of Galesburg; and a sister, Jean L. Howerton of Louisville, KY. Julie earned an associate’s degree from Carl Sandburg College.  She had worked for Tractor Supply Co., K-Mart, and Ayerco.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church.  Julie was a lover of horses and enjoyed riding and training them.  Visitation will be from 12:30 – 2 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2010 at Watson Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday at Watson Funeral Home with Rev. Melva England officiating.   Cremation rites will be accorded following the service and burial of ashes will be on Wednesday at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.  Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
