Julie M. Porter

Julie Maxine Porter, 60, of Galesburg, died at 2:13 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021, at home. Julie was born October 3, 1961, in Peoria, the daughter of Julia Maxine (Rountree) and Joseph Madison Cassel.  Julie married her long-time partner Niles Harry Porter on February 15, 2011, in Galesburg. He survives as does a son, Burton Lane (Susanne) Zimmerman of Philadelphia, PA; a daughter, Jacinda Ali of Venice, IL; and a stepdaughter, Maryann Porter of Galesburg; and one sister, Donna Stevenson of Abingdon, IL.  Julie is also survived by seven grandchildren, Brittany, Destiny, Kayla, Bryson, Shandi, Keylci, and Eli; two step grandchildren, Morgan and Mitchell; two great grandchildren, Amari and Aleena; and two step great grandchildren, Rylan and Madeline.  Julie was preceded in death by a son, Bobby (Stephanie) Zimmerman of Galesburg. Julie had spent the past several years as an in-home caretaker for her stepdaughter, Maryann.  In her younger years, Julie enjoyed playing darts and pool.  She also enjoyed playing cards.  What she loved the most was being at home and spending time with her family. Cremation has been accorded.  No services will be held.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
