Kathleen H Kennedy

Kathleen H. Kennedy, 93, of Galesburg, died at 2:05 a.m. on April 27, 2010 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg.   Kathleen was born on April 9, 1917 in Peoria, the daughter of Edward Lee and Bessie Blanche Foster Laughlin.  She first married George Lavender.  She then married Billy Dean Allen.  She later married Lewis Kennedy.  Surviving Kathleen is her son, Darrel Edward (JoAnn) Allen of Galesburg; her daughter, Betty Darlene (Dale) Cozad of Oklahoma City, OK; 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; her twin sister, Adaleen Irene Bell  Also surviving are her nieces, Kathy (Ron) Custer, Janet (Steve) Ricketts, Karen (Mike) Herting, and Carol Sue (Mark) Danielson; and a nephew, Everett (Ruth) Snyder.  She was preceded in death by her husbands; a son, Johnny Lavender; 2 stillborn daughters; 2 brothers, Clifford Snyder and Lawrence Groff, Jr.   Kathleen worked as a CNA for many years.  She worked in several Galesburg area healthcare facilities including Galesburg Research, Cottage Hospital, OSF St. Mary’s Hospital, and Knox County Nursing Home, retiring in 1980.   Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Colonial Baptist Church, with Pastor Darrell Grimm officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the Church.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Funeral Home, Galesburg.
