Kathleen Shaw

Kathleen Shaw of Galesburg, Illinois died on March 9, 2009 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. She is again with her parents as she was as the first born child of Jasper and Shirley Jones on September 21, 1947.  Kathleen is the mother of Jennifer (Marlon) Burton of Park Forest and Natalie Shaw of Peoria.    She is the grandmother of Alexa Harris, Anthony Townsend, Kyler and Kaydem West, Amari and Aubrey Burton.   Her sister Yvette (Dan) Boone of Morristown, TN has been her supportive sibling during her illness. Also surviving are Kathleen’s dear friends who were her strength, Al Urena, Connie Leath, and Rick Bettisworth all of Galesburg.  She was a member of Galesburg Elk’s Lodge 894 and Amvets.  She was nominated to who’s who among students in American Junior Colleges 1992-1993. Per her wishes she has been cremated.  Private family services were held at Watson Funeral Home, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to MDS Foundation.  Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.watsonfh.net.
