Kathy R. Marshall

Kathy Rae Marshall, 71, of Galesburg, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 13, 2018 in the Emergency Room at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. Kathy was born October 19, 1947 in Galesburg, the daughter of Richard Jay and Dorothy Jean (Robertson) Houlihan. She married Rodney Marshall in 1968. They later divorced. He died June 3, 1994. Kathy is survived by her mother, Dorothy Dahlstrom of Wataga; two children, Kim (Jess Andrae) Marshall and Doug Marshall both of Galesburg; one sister, Jeanne (Ronald) Johnson of Wataga; two grandchildren, Andrew and Taylor Marshall; and one nephew, Randy (Fiance-Gina Schutte) Johnson of Orion. Kathy was preceded in death by her father, step father, Herbert Dahlstrom; life long friend, Bruce Whitsitt; special friend, Joe Kirk; and her beloved dog, Buddy. Kathy worked at OMC Gale Products for several years. She worked for many years as an in-home caretaker for the elderly. Kathy had a great love of animals, especially cats and enjoyed riding horses when she was growing up. Kathy also loved to shop. Cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
