Larry's Video Tribute Larry Enos Ginther, 73, of Abingdon, died at 10:35 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. Larry was born December 3, 1939 in Avon, IL the son of Enos N. and Mildred (Moore) Ginther.  He married Sharon Poulson on July 8, 1961 at the Abingdon Christian Church.  He is survived by his wife Sharon of Abingdon; his mother, Mildred Ginther of Knoxville; two sons, Rod (Nikki) Ginther of Cameron and Josh (Kim) Ginther of Abingdon; two daughters, Gwen (Todd) Van Velsor of Galesburg and Donna (Jim) Anderson of Altona; two brothers, Dick (Gracie) Ginther of Galesburg and Daryl (Sandy) Ginther of Bloomington; and one sister, Diane (Bob) Fuller of Peoria.  He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, one great grandson, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father.  Larry worked for 35 years as a heavy equipment operator for Local 649.  He also farmed the family farm outside of Abingdon.  Larry was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church, Illinois Beef Association, Knox County Farm Bureau, Knox County Cattleman’s Association, and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 649. Larry’s greatest joys were his grandchildren and attending their different sporting events and performances.  Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home, Galesburg.  Rev. M.J. Fitch will officiate.  Burial will follow in Abingdon Cemetery, Abingdon.  Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the family to go towards stroke awareness.
