Larry G. Woodkirk

Larry G. Woodkirk, 71, of Galesburg, died at 5:10 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013 at home. Larry was born on November 9, 1941 in Carrollton, IL the son of Lee Kenneth and Leona Mae (Hammon) Woodkirk.  He married Barbara Adams on May 16, 1967 in Galesburg.  Larry is survived by his wife, Barb of Galesburg; one son, Jeff of Cape Coral, FL; 4 brothers, Ron (Lori) of Galesburg, Tom (Polly) of Carlinville, Dennis and Greg both of Greenfield; and one sister, Cara (Terry) Boynton of Galesburg.  Larry was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Scott on November 10, 2007. Larry served in the US Air Force and was a conductor for BNSF for 39 years.  He loved going to tractor pulls and shows.  Larry loved his family and truly enjoyed family get togethers.  He was a die hard Cubs fan. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home, Pastor Bob Wakefield will officiate.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Foursquare Gospel Church or to the family.
