Larry K. Fitzanko

Larry Keith Fitzanko, 83, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 4:10 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2024 peacefully at home.

Larry was born July 30, 1940 in Pekin, Illinois. Larry married Charlotte Ann “Sue” Lamb on September 24, 1966 in Pekin, Illinois. Larry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sue of Galesburg; one son, William A. (Gena Robinson) Fitzanko of Smithland, Kentucky; one daughter, Donna (Gregory) Icenogle of Pekin; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter. Larry is also survived by two brothers, Jim (Elke) Fitzanko of Snyder, Oklahoma and Steven (Coleen) Fitzanko of Pekin; and one sister, Anna Mansch of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Larry was preceded in death by his father William and Wilma Marie (Smith) Fitzanko; and one great granddaughter.

Larry worked for many years as a union pipefitter. Larry had great faith in the Lord, enjoyed reading the Bible, and preaching the word. He was a longtime member of New Life Baptist Church, Galesburg. In his younger years, Larry enjoyed playing baseball. He loved puzzles, sudoku, and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Cremation will be accorded. No funeral services are planned. The family has entrusted arrangements to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to New Life Baptist Church parking lot project.
