Leo V. Leonard, 79, 0f 275 E. Carl Sandburg Dr, Galesburg, died at 7:37 p.m. on Friday November 24, 2006 at Cottage Hospital.   Leo was born on March 15, 1927 in Monmouth, IL the son of Gerald M. and Elizabeth E. Corzat Leonard.  He married Julia Martin on August 31, 1955 in Macomb, Illinois.  Surviving are his wife Julia of Galesburg; 2 sons -  Earl of Galesburg and Timothy (Sheri) of Clinton, IA; 3 daughters-  Rachael Miller-Whitworth, Joy Setzer and Mari (Jim) Slaughter all of Grover, NC.  Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by 1 brother and 1 sister.   Leo served in the Army Air Corp during WWII, stationed in Pensacola, FL.  He graduated from Brown’s Business College in Galesburg.  He worked as an accountant/bookkeeper for Franseen Bookkeeping the Theesfield Bookkeeping for over 50 years, retiring in 1997.  He was a member of the Open Bible Church in Galesburg.  He was a long time committed blood donor to the American Red Cross.   Graveside services will be on Tuesday November 28, 2006 at the Rock Island National Cemetery with Captain Rick Ray and Pastor Ted Gillum officiating.  Visitation will be on Monday November 27 from 6 – 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Open Bible Church, Calvary Assembly of God, Salvation Army, Rescue Mission; or the charity of the donor’s choice
